Reasons for the decision

The application has been approved, with the above amendments, as the Licensing Sub-Committee were satisfied that the licensing objectives would not be undermined.

The Licensing Sub-Committee took into consideration that the Metropolitan Police Service had withdrawn their objections in advance of the hearing as the applicant had agreed to their proposed and additional conditions.

The Licensing Sub-Committee noted that the applicant is an experienced licence holder who was capable of operating the premises in line with the licensing objectives and noted that a petition had been produced with signatures in support of the application. This petition also included a signature from immediate neighbours to the premises.

The Licensing Sub-Committee approved the application having taken into consideration the representations made by the local residents regarding their objection to the extra hours proposed by the applicant in the week and at the weekend, and the concerns that they had for the local community who are already affected by the noise in the area from the various premises and a local pub. However, in approving the application the Licensing Sub-Committee took into account the proposed reduced hours which the applicant had agreed to, in order to address the noise concerns raised. The Licensing Sub-Committee also took into consideration that the premises was moving further down the road, which will reduce any noise affecting these local residents, in addition to the fact that there had been no previous complaints relating to the premises.

Having taken all these factors into consideration, the Licensing Sub-Committee were satisfied that the licensing objectives would not be undermined.
