Members of the Council are appointed to serve on outside body organisations annually by the the Cabinet. The positions are for varied periods of time and in some cases, Members may receive remuneration for the duties they undertake during their appointment.
In carrying out these roles, Members act as both individuals and as representatives of the Council.

Upkeep of some 190 properties – Reserve Centres and Cadet units – within Greater London.
Recruiting support for the Reserves of all Services.
Community Engagement – building awareness and positive attitudes towards the Armed Forces as a whole.
Working with the police, local authorities, educational establishments and the Army Cadet Force to help crime-vulnerable and socially disengaged young people.
