This ward forum meeting is particularly aimed at residents of the Milton Gardens Estate, to discuss with your local councillors what your priorities are for improvements to the local area. Children welcome.

Fly-tipping is taking place next to the bins on Spencer Grove and Albion Grove. Consideration will be given to putting up a notice encouraging people to use the bins, and also writing to all residents to remind them of this. |

Shelley House has not yet had new windows under the Decent Homes programme, and the block is damp and cold. A damp survey was undertaken in early October, but the report is still awaited. Cllr Alcock will look into this, and will chase up the damp report and clarify when Shelley House is being resurveyed for major works.

Concerns about noisy neighbours were raised by residents of Blake House, Matthias House, and Shelley House. Simon Precilla will write to the residents with concerns, and investigate this issue.

Concern was raised about dog mess, and dogs off their leads on the estate including in the kids playground. It was agreed that Hackney Homes would liaise with the Community Safety team to increase patrols on the estate. Hackney Homes staff can also issue FPNs.
The effectiveness of any enforcement will depend in part on residents providing intelligence on the times/places that dogs are causing a nuisance – any concerns should therefore be reported to Hackney Homes. |

The TRA are installing bike storage facilities around the estate. The plans are based on resident consultation and will be discussed at the next TRA meeting on 10 December. In the meantime there is still time for residents to influence the plans and to express an interest in having access to bike storage.
Individual bike lockers will cost residents £35 a year. Some concerns were raised about the affordability of this for residents. Cllr Mitchell agreed that she would raise this issue with Hackney Homes on their behalf.
It was reported that the TRAis having to pay for the installation of bike racks. Cllr Alcock agreed to raise this issue with Hackney Homes, as she felt the TRA should not have to pay for this. |

It was reported that the path between Binyan House and Butterfield Green has been dark for 12 months, and there are over-hanging branches from the park. It was agreed that the lights would be fixed, and a request made to Parks for the over-hanging branches to be cut back. |

Concerns were raised about Hackney Homes relying too heavily on residents reporting basic issues around the estate rather than these being picked up by the cleaners. One issue was felt to be the lack of HH staff working after dark, when issues such as broken lights would become more apparent. Simon Precilla agreed to look into this issue. |

It was felt that Hackney Homes need to provide more support to the estate and TRA, e.g. to help publicise TRA meetings, and ensure that actions are followed through. It was felt that there was a credibility issue for Hackney Homes on the estate, and this was not helped by a high turnover of staff responsible for the estate. It was noted that a new temporary estate officer started the previous week, but a permanent appointment is expected by mid-January.
